November is here … finally?

That is a typical november weather here in finland. Grey and rainy. The last years autumn was like this, for weeks. No sun at all.

After a while it is really depressing, the sun going down early, long dark and grey weather.

But as you can can see from the previous posts, this autumn was really beautiful so far.

The last days were really grey and I am happy about it. I enjoyed the weather really! But let’s see if this stays long, I think I am going to miss the sun…

Autumn moments to remember

This autumn has really been the complete opposite of summer. We had only few sunny days and it was cold and rainy.
But this autumn, the first time since I came here, has been so sunny and beautiful. The colors are so amazing and everything is like a masterpiece of art, awesome in colors and light.

I really hope there are still many sunny days to come

The rare days of summer

This summer has been really strange. Mostly rainy. Ok, I think this is not so strange at the end, for a finnish summer. But the water is still too cold for swimming. I hope it does not stay that way.

Here a little collection of photos from a forest nearby. It is a nature conservation area and very beautiful. We found a pond full of tadpoles last week. The kids are looking forward to go check them again if they have grown…

This last picture is from another forest, I love how the plants make it look really dreamlike. But I do not know their name. If you know how they are called, please leave a comment, thanks!

Summer flowers

A little collection of summer flowers…
They remind me, that this life does not last forever.
It is a glimpse in the universe, a breath, a blink of an eye.
It will perish, like these flowers.
Few days in the summer they bloom and give us joy, only to wither away and die.
So now is the moment to enjoy and to live to the fullest. Do not weep over yesterday, do not worry about tomorrow, for those do not exist.

It’s the little things…

…that make me happy. A moment with your family, a cup of delicious tea, a smile from your child…

Today was an awesome day. We went on a little mountain with a gorgeus view between the trees…

Made a little campfire

(The wood was bit too wet for a proper campfire, but we got our food warm 🙂 )

And saw just beautiful nature

I am not sure if it is officially summer yet but it felt like summer, so this is officially the first summer post!

And what could make one more happy than a beautiful day with the family!

Alhamdulillah

A very special playground

Our city, Jyväskylä, is called “valon kaupunki” which means “town of light”. Well, the city council want it to be called that way. This means, on the dark days of the year in winter, there are many places which are enlightened in different ways. I have been posting some pictures of our bridge already.

I do not always agree with that. I think if the city’s financial status is so bad, that people cannot get any appointment in public healthcare, if the matter is not urgent, then we should hire some doctors instead of spreading so lamps to places where nobody is walking.

But, on the other side, it is also gorgeous in some ways. These pictures are from a city playground where I used to play a lot when I was small. It had a very beautiful atmosphere…

The pictures are a bit old, I have to excuse my slow posting frequency. It was taken a month ago. It is now much brighter, alhamdulillah. I saw the sun again!
