Close-up Sarracenia

An ordinary monday evening, I am waiting for the rice to finish, the kids are coloring and the teen is tapping on her phone. Daily grind as usual, but still there are small wonders around us we fail so often to see.
Like those tiny hairs on the Sarracenia plant, which is desperate trying to survive on our kitchen window.
I hope I never get too busy to notice the small wonders of life.

The rare days of summer

This summer has been really strange. Mostly rainy. Ok, I think this is not so strange at the end, for a finnish summer. But the water is still too cold for swimming. I hope it does not stay that way.

Here a little collection of photos from a forest nearby. It is a nature conservation area and very beautiful. We found a pond full of tadpoles last week. The kids are looking forward to go check them again if they have grown…

This last picture is from another forest, I love how the plants make it look really dreamlike. But I do not know their name. If you know how they are called, please leave a comment, thanks!

Summer flowers

A little collection of summer flowers…
They remind me, that this life does not last forever.
It is a glimpse in the universe, a breath, a blink of an eye.
It will perish, like these flowers.
Few days in the summer they bloom and give us joy, only to wither away and die.
So now is the moment to enjoy and to live to the fullest. Do not weep over yesterday, do not worry about tomorrow, for those do not exist.

It’s the little things…

…that make me happy. A moment with your family, a cup of delicious tea, a smile from your child…

Today was an awesome day. We went on a little mountain with a gorgeus view between the trees…

Made a little campfire

(The wood was bit too wet for a proper campfire, but we got our food warm 🙂 )

And saw just beautiful nature

I am not sure if it is officially summer yet but it felt like summer, so this is officially the first summer post!

And what could make one more happy than a beautiful day with the family!

Autumn forest in middle Finland

It was the time of year again! Our annual autumn forest trip was today. Looking at older posts, I saw I had posted none of our last year’s trip.

Well, not missing it this year. I was very beautiful, as usual. We were blessed with a beautiful weather, it was not too cold.

The sun was shining lightly through the clouds and gave everything a smooth feeling and look

The leaves were so beautifully colored

and there was a small lake with little fishies

lake and the trees

And a sort of ski jump right into the water

Looks bit steep from above

I have always wondered, what is it like to jump in there. Never seen people doing it, but what else could it be for…

It was such a nice trip, I hope next year we will go again!

Inshaa Allah
